H.L. Epic, nature-inspired German black metal or better to say Bavarian black metal, as WALDGEFLÜSTER uses this dialect. The three monumental pillars of this inspired release are "Im Ebersberger Forst", "Am Tatzelwurm" and "Mim Blick aufn Kaiser". All three of them true atmospheric masterpieces, varied, dramatic and with anthemic refrains. The use of harsh and soulful clean vocals is very well balanced. An impressive and poetic piece of art! Favorite track: Mim Blick aufn Kaiser.

YomaBarr Blistering. After that mind bending Ikotka's Porcha on homes and what goes on in them, now this, from another angle. I wonder where my true home is. My heart's been left in a place that no longer exists.
Anyway. This is Waldgeflüster in all their glory and with all their trademarks, and yet, it feels like they made a full circle and returned... home? stronger, wiser, more experienced. Thus, being familiar with the early albums may help.
Which I mean in the best way. Brilliant, triumphant album. Favorite track: Am Tatzelwurm.

about

"Belonging, identity, exclusion, otherization. What is home and who gets to call it that? Why is something considered typical or local and how can we make a place our own? 10 years after exploring some inner truths, peace and strength in the wilderness of Femundsmarka, it is now time to take a close look at the place we call “home” and try to find some universal truths about it. Rooted in the landscapes of Upper Bavaria, written in its tongue, those seven songs of “Dahoam” (“Back home”) can barely put in words what home truly is or what human beings dare to make of it. Yet despite all the darkness that comes with it - there still is this sense of belonging once we see the Wendelstein in the distance. The concept of home, the contradictions and inner conflict that come with it is what "Dahoam" tries to explore."
